VHS Learning: Empowering High School Students with World-Class Online Education

VHS Learning is dedicated to providing high school students with teacher-led online courses across a wide range of subjects, aiming to create a comprehensive, flexible, and high-quality online learning platform. Our mission is to ignite students’ passion for learning through world-class online courses and professional educators. Building on this foundation, VHS has also designed specialized online courses for student-athletes and arts students, which have become an integral part of the BFA Future Education system.

How VHS Learning Works:

1.Fixed-Paced Courses: VHS offers structured online courses with weekly deadlines for assignments, group projects, and discussion posts. Each fixed-paced class is led by a single teacher, with an average student-to-teacher ratio of 15:1, maximizing interaction among students and between students and teachers.

2.Flexible-Paced Courses: In addition to fixed-paced courses, VHS provides flexible-paced courses that allow students to learn at their own pace under the guidance of a teacher. Students can log in to the system anytime, anywhere, to access their lessons. BFA will grant credits to students who successfully complete VHS Learning courses.

    Key Features of VHS Learning:

1.Extensive Course Selection: With over 250 unique online courses available, VHS Learning complements traditional in-person instruction at schools and meets the diverse learning needs of students. Students can visit the VHS website at www.govhs.org to view the complete course catalog.

2.Flexible Scheduling: VHS Learning helps schools address scheduling challenges by offering high-quality, teacher-led courses that can be tailored to student interests without adding to the budget. This flexibility ensures that students can access the courses they need when they need them.

3.Certified Teachers: All VHS courses are taught by certified high school teachers, ensuring high-quality instruction. We offer NCAA-approved core courses, AP courses, computer science, STEM courses, and a wide range of unique electives. With certified teachers leading the way, students can be confident in the quality of their education.

VHS Learning is committed to providing an exceptional online learning experience that supports students’ academic success and personal growth.

    NCAA: National Collegiate Athletic Association

The NCAA certification program is an academic accreditation system designed for high school students, aiming to ensure that they are academically and athletically qualified to enter NCAA member universities and participate in sports activities. The NCAA requires student-athletes admitted to member universities to meet certain academic standards to balance their academic and athletic commitments in college. As a result, the NCAA has established strict academic criteria that high school courses must meet to be certified as “NCAA Core Courses.” These courses typically include core subjects such as English, mathematics, natural sciences, social sciences, and foreign languages, and must satisfy NCAA requirements regarding course content, instructional hours, and academic rigor. Additionally, these courses should offer academic challenges, such as Advanced Placement (AP) or Honors courses.

BFA maintains a long-term partnership with the NCAA to help student-athletes unlock the doors to top American universities!

The role of NCAA-certified courses is primarily reflected in three aspects:

    1. Completing a certain number of NCAA-certified courses with satisfactory grades is one of the important requirements for admission to NCAA member universities.

    2. For students aspiring to receive athletic scholarships, completing these courses is a fundamental prerequisite.

    3. These courses ensure that students receive high-quality academic training in high school, laying a solid foundation for their college studies.

Overall, NCAA-certified courses are an essential academic preparation for high school students aiming to enter NCAA member universities. By completing these courses, students can not only enhance their academic abilities but also lay a strong foundation for their future college athletic careers.
